Connor is 11 months old today! It is really odd to think that
he's been with us for so long. This time last year, I was very
uncomfortable and it only got worse as my due date came and went. This
past weekend we went out and bought him a few new outfits and a new
pair of walking shoes. Once they are on he seems okay with
them. They
have made a huge difference in his walking. Each day he takes new
steps and new risks. He let go of the coffee table and started to
walk to the livingroom exit, got half way and looked at me as if to say
"What the hell am I doing?" he then sat down and crawled the rest
of the way. I'm pretty sure he will be walking by his first
birthday. He is still working on a few new words. He tries
to say Elmo it still needs some work. Although he doesn't say
many words, he knows what we are talking about. If you ask him
where his bottle is, he will go and get it. He understands the
concept no, but chooses to ignore it. I love watching him learn.
I got together with some friends last night for what was supposed to be
a book club meeting, but it was really just an excuse to drink wine and
eat cheese and crackers. I love these women. I think I
really needed a few hours of girl time. The group of us are the
most diverse group of people, but we all seem to compliment
eachother. It is a great feeling to be part of a group that no
matter what happens in life you will be loved, supported and
respected. The unconditional acceptance is an amazing
feeling. When we all met we ranged in age from 1st year to 4th
years with lots of different life experience, but as pledges we were
"taught" that what happens to one happens to all. After we became
full sisters it was assumed that we would all break up into smaller
groups. In some ways we did stop spending all of our time
together, but the bond that we formed never really went away. I
am so grateful to have them in my life.
